Company Ownership
A&I
Travel was founded in 1953 by Charles Curtis. In December of 2001,
Curtis sold his ownership to five long-term employees. All of the owners of
A&I Travel take a hands-on, day-to-day role in the management of the
company. Vicki Rush takes primary responsibility for managing A&I
Travel's corporate travel division (which accounts for approximately 89%
of our business) as well as overall operations. Rebecca Martin's role
includes general oversight of company strategy and company financials
with special emphasis on technology and human resources. Sonya Barham's
responsibilities are concentrated in sales, marketing, client services
and consulting. Rhonda McDowell oversees the leisure division. Keith
Stevens has overall responsibility for A&I Travel's accounting division
and financial matters.
Business Strategy & Target Markets
Although we are a full service travel agency with divisions handling
corporate travel, leisure travel and meetings/incentive travel, our
primary focus for the past twenty-five years has been on corporate
travel management. Our target market is mid-sized corporate accounts in
the $500,000 to $5,000,000 annual air-spend range. Companies who choose
A&I Travel as their travel management provider are interested in
achieving maximum cost savings without forsaking high levels of service
for their travelers. They turn to A&I Travel because of our recognized
expertise in vendor negotiations for mid-sized accounts, our quick
responsiveness to their needs and requests, our ability to customize
solutions for each customer we serve, and our reputation for integrity
and accountability, which is a cornerstone of our company's values. Our
business strategy is to continually earn the loyalty and continued
patronage of our existing business with measurable results and to grow
our business by focusing on the area that we know best: comprehensive
travel management services and consulting for mid-sized corporate
accounts.
A&I Travel's
gross sales for 2007 were approximately $43 million. We have experienced
an average 20% annual growth rate over the past three years, and we are
recognized as the largest regional agency in the Mid-South. We currently
have 37 full-time employees on staff. We operate five
corporate onsite offices in addition to our headquarters office in
Memphis, TN.
