A surprisingly large percentage of companies still lack a written travel
policy, according to a recent survey by T&E Research. Of the 238 travel
managers responding to the online poll, only 61 percent say their firms
have a document outlining business travel guidelines.
But those that do put the rules in writing
do so at length: While 19 percent keep it brief (1 or 2 pages), 27
percent report their travel policies exceed 10 pages.

NWA Reaches New
Tentative Agreement with its Flight Attendants

Northwest Airlines
Northwest Airlines said that it has reached a tentative contract
agreement with its flight attendants, represented by the Association of
Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA).
“Over the past several days, we have engaged in many hours of intense
negotiations with the AFA on a new collective bargaining agreement. We
are pleased to have reached this tentative agreement, which would give
our flight attendants a $182 million unsecured claim in the airline’s
bankruptcy,” said Mike Becker, Northwest Airlines senior vice
president-human resources and labor relations.

Delta Emerges
From Bankruptcy Protection
Source: BCD
Travel
As expected, Delta Air Lines emerged from bankruptcy protection
after 19 months of restructuring. Delta anticipates that its debt at the
end of 2007 will be less than half of what it was on June 30, 2005
($16.9 billion). Delta plans on returning to the New York Stock Exchange
on Thursday of this week.
Attention Delta Elite
Frequent Flyers
Delta has made an enhancement to their elite upgrade process that will
automatically place Elite travelers on the Delta upgrade queue
immediately after ticketing. Formerly this was a manual process we
handled in house. Your upgrade will still be based on your elite status
level, the class of service booked, and as always, availability.
If for some reason you do not wish to be upgraded, please let us know.
We will call Delta and have them block your upgrade for this exact
record.

Exceptional Customer
Service

Rosie Gattas
Dear Ms. Gattas,
I wanted to personally thank you for your assistance in "getting me
home" from San Diego, California, Friday, February 16, 2007.
My assistant, Donna Hightower, told me how instrumental you were in
making the arrangements and I cannot tell you how much this meant to me
and my family.
In these days when customer service seems to have vanished from the face
of the earth, it is refreshing to find someone of your caliber who is
willing to go above and beyond in assisting your customer; especially
with the outstanding results you provided.
A & I Travel is fortunate to have you as one of their employees.
Best regards,
Cary P. Hagan, Wright Medical Technology, Inc.
