Caribbean
passport deadline withdrawn amid complaints
The United States
has withdrawn a proposed December deadline for implementing new
rules that would require Americans to show passports when
returning from the Caribbean, and official said Wednesday.
Caribbean tourism officials had complained that the measures
would hurt the vital industry. Similar rules were also proposed
for Canada, Mexico and Bermuda, and Caribbean officials also
complained that Mexico and Canada would have gained an edge
because Americans returning from those countries would not have
to show passports until Dec. 21, 2006.

AirTran Airways, a
subsidiary of AirTran
Holdings, Inc. announced its flight schedule for new,
daily nonstop service from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
International Airport to Cancun International Airport,
marking the first low- fare flight scheduled to Cancun

US Airways Aligns Policies
with America West Airlines in Preparation for Proposed
Merger
In
preparation for its anticipated merger with America West
Airlines, US Airways has aligned three of its policies
so that the combined carrier
will be better
able to offer seamless service to its customers when the
merger is completed. The changes being announced today
are consistent with existing policies at America West
and other low-cost airlines.

Hyatt Corp. Announces
Acquisition of AmeriSuites Hotels
Hyatt
Corporation, the worldwide hotel management and real
estate development company, announced that it
will purchase the 143-unit AmeriSuites hotel chain
from affiliates of The Blackstone Group. Definitive
agreements have been concluded and the transaction
is expected to close in January. AmeriSuites is a
leading all-suite, upscale limited service hotel
brand. Some of the changes on the horizon includes a
name change to Hyatt Place and a full renovation
starting this October with completion in late 2006.
Upon renovation completion, Hyatt Place will be
comparable to Courtyard Marriott's and Hilton
Gardens. Also, you will be able to check-in online
reducing registration time at the front desk.

Avis has added the Hummer H3 to
their specialty and luxury vehicle lineup. 500 Hummer's were
initially added to their fleet in the following locations: Dallas,
Denver, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle. Phoenix has
75 Hummer H3's equipped with Satellite/Direct TV systems. You will
be able to enjoy your favorite programming on the open highway
anytime, virtually anywhere. The cost of Satellite/Direct TV Systems
is $10.00 per day above the quoted rental rate.
