Hotel News

Corporate hotel rates expected to increase 6% in 2008
Final negotiations for 2008 corporate hotel rates are just about completed and it appears that corporate hotel rates will rise 6% this year, which was about the same increase corporations saw in 2007. For the last five years hotel rates have increased almost 40% in some markets. The hotel segment has been one of the most profitable of the travel industry for the last five years as a strong economy has caused demand to outpace supply. A slowing economy, if it materializes, may slow down prices in the year ahead.
