NWA Imposes Call Center Assistance Fee For Seat Assignment Requests
Source: NWA
NWA/KLM reservations will assess the call center assistance fee for
customers who call to request a seat assignment for a reservation that
was made through an external ticketing source. Currently, a call center
assistance fee of $15.00 USD/$18.00 CAD is assessed when a customer

within Mileage Plus or another Star Alliance carrier program equivalent
will be permitted only one free checked bag. A second bag may be
checked for $25. For all customers, the fee for the third or fourth bags
would be $100. Please note that there is no change in the current
policy for elite status travelers of United or other Star
carriers or those without status traveling in First or Business Class or

Corporate hotel rates expected to increase 6% in 2008
Final negotiations for 2008 corporate hotel rates are just about
completed and it appears that corporate hotel rates will rise 6% this
year, which was about the same increase corporations saw in 2007. For
the last five years hotel rates have increased almost 40% in some
markets. The hotel segment has been one of the most profitable of the
travel industry for the last five years as a strong economy has caused
demand to outpace supply. A slowing economy, if it materializes, may
slow down prices in the year ahead. |
